1. Scope and developer information
This Privacy Policy applies only to the Termk Android application and its optional online PDF-processing service. It does not govern unrelated websites, applications, or services.
Termk is provided by the developer identified on its official Google Play listing. That listing is the authoritative public record for the developer identity and support contact. Privacy inquiries may be submitted through the support contact published there.
2. Data stored on your device
Termk stores your semesters, courses, classes, assignments, exams, completion states, settings, and reminder configuration locally in the application’s private storage. Core planning, editing, and local reminders work without an account and do not require your academic records to be sent to a server.
The application does not include advertising, analytics, account synchronization, or remote backup. Termk disables Android backup for its application data.
Device access
- The Android document picker provides access only to a PDF that you select for import.
- Notification and system scheduling features are used to deliver and maintain reminders, subject to your device settings and permissions.
- Network access is used only for optional PDF processing and related security checks.
The application does not request access to your contacts, precise location, camera, microphone, messages, health data, or financial data. Selecting a PDF does not grant broad access to device storage.
3. Optional Add from PDF processing
Add from PDF is optional, and manual entry remains available. When you use this feature, Termk copies the selected PDF into private temporary storage and renders every page of a document containing at most five pages. The original PDF is not uploaded. Bounded rendered page images are uploaded temporarily for private OCR processing. For Exam imports, the normalized codes of courses in your current semester are also sent so unrelated exams can be excluded.
The OCR service converts those page images into bounded text regions and layout information. Only that OCR text and layout—not the PDF or page images—is sent to the AI provider to create structured suggestions. This may include course, class, assignment, homework, or exam details contained in the selected pages.
The information is used only to propose structured academic items. You can review, edit, or remove every suggestion, and nothing is saved to your semester until you confirm it.
4. Online services
Termk uses cloud infrastructure and artificial-intelligence service providers to operate Add from PDF and prevent abuse. Cloud infrastructure temporarily processes the rendered pages, job metadata, OCR evidence, and results. The AI provider processes the bounded OCR text and layout. Providers may also process ordinary technical information such as an IP address and random installation identifier.
Providers handle information under their own terms and privacy practices, which may allow limited retention or other use depending on the service and configuration.
Termk does not sell your personal information and does not use PDF content for advertising.
5. Security and data minimization
Termk uses HTTPS encryption for information sent to its online service and limits processing to what is needed for the selected feature. Requests and results are checked before they are accepted.
Your academic records remain in private app storage. Online results cannot change them automatically; you retain the final review-and-confirm step.
No security measure can guarantee absolute protection. Termk limits the data it processes and the time it keeps that data to reduce exposure.
6. Retention and deletion
- Local academic data: remains on your device until you edit or delete it. Uninstalling Termk removes its local application data because Android backup is disabled.
- Temporary PDF: stays on the device and is removed after page rendering or a preparation failure.
- Rendered pages and OCR evidence: are stored temporarily for processing and removed after a result is produced, cancellation, or expiry.
- Structured result: remains available until the app saves or cancels the import, or the job expires after 24 hours.
- Job and security records: bounded job metadata, hashed authorization and installation values, page metadata, and any Exam course-code scope may be kept for a short operational period, currently no later than seven days after job creation. Content-free operational logs may be kept only as reasonably needed for security, reliability, debugging, and cost control.
- Service-provider records: are handled according to each provider’s terms, privacy practices, and service configuration.
Termk does not create user accounts and does not maintain a remote copy of your semester database.
7. Your choices and controls
- Use manual entry instead of Add from PDF.
- Cancel an import before confirmation without saving its suggestions.
- Edit or delete local classes, assignments, exams, courses, and semesters in the application.
- Control notification permission and reminder availability through Android settings.
- Uninstall the application to remove its local app data.
For a privacy inquiry about online processing, use the support contact on the official Google Play listing. Because Termk has no account system and does not retain academic payloads in its backend, there is ordinarily no server-side academic profile for the developer to retrieve or delete.
8. Policy changes and contact
This policy may be updated when the application’s features, service providers, data handling, or legal obligations change. Material changes will be reflected in the application or its Google Play disclosures where required.
